Along with Alabamy Bound, and Alabama Jubilee
who could forget these great classic's.
I have been to Alabama one time in my life & that was to attend the funeral of my good buddy Luke Morris a friend and salesman from way back in the early days of Fender. I have not been back since.
I often go into much detail and many people take issue with the length of my posts, but
thats Ok as long as it is for a worthwhile reason and this to me is more than worth the time I spend.
Every morning I arise and go to my computer,
Its not easy being idle after all the years
I was traveling on the road with my 51 Chevy
Bel-Air convertible and a blonde by my side.
The Blonde being a beautiful Telecaster guitar. As I was youg and carefree the whole world was my oyster.
But as the years rolled by so quickly,I found
myself looking in the rear view mirror of my life, and after a few years of watching my wife go through the tough times of her health
problems,I found it difficult to imagine how
many years have passed since those days back
then.
Each day is more or less the same with me and
my wife.I look through my phone book and see who I could call and reminisce (sp)?, but many times
I find that the phone # I called was changed or dis-connected and later find that those who were my friends are gone now.
The mornings are the usual..look at whats going on with the Forum, and then look at my incoming mail to see who is writing me.
Sure I receive all the junk mail we all do.
But most of all I receive mail from sincere
friends who I think so much of.
One in particular who also shares his thoughts and prayers with me writes me every
day and helps brighten my outlook as to what
the future may hold for my wife and myself and gives me the mental lift I need.
Much of what I receive from this gentleman are humorous and down to earth things of mutual interest. Few people know that this friend played steel guitar with Marty Robbins some years back on when he toured with Marty Robbins.
He puts a smile on my face each morning and I always go back and re-read what he wrote and smile and sometimes get a laugh out of his good natured humor and spiritual guidance
My life would not be the same without e mail from this wonderful man,and although we have never met face to face and perhaps we never
will, it warms hy heart to think that someone
like this gentleman feels what I feel and lives with the same issues that I do from day to day and shares his thoughts with me.
I want to acknowledge my friend who is a Forum member and seldom posts anything, but when he does it is always something positive and not controversial. Everyone should have a friend in their lives as I do in him.
The Night Stars Fell On Alabama was the night
Bill Hamner was born.
My sincere thoughts and good wishes and prayers go out to Bill and Barbara Hamner.
They couldnt have wrote a better song and God
could not have created a better human being than my friend Bill.
God Bless Bill and Barbara Hamner. Southern
Gentleman.

This was in the Key of C and the first chord is A7th. No pedals.
Thanks again. Sorry I had to edit, Im very poor at spelling and that's the reason the book I'm writing is taking so long, but I'm working on it you can bet on that.
[This message was edited by Jody Carver on 13 July 2006 at 07:37 PM.]
