Johnny Cox & MSA

Post by Tommy White »

My dear friend Johnny Cox and his lovely sweet wife Joan delivered my new MSA Millenium (tons o'tone) and SuperSlide to me at the Opry this weekend. The guitars are even better than I anxiously anticipated.Incredibly beautiful craftmanship and as usual for MSA, ready to play right out of the box! I'm a very happy camper.
Special thanks to Johnny, Kyle, Sonny, Stan and Reece, my great friends at MSA.

Those MSA's do sound awesome, even with a hack like me playing them. I can't wait to hear what your able to get out of them!! Nothing less than astounding I'm sure!!

Plus there's none better than Johnny Cox to put 'em together and set 'em up to perfection!

Bobby Lee,
You're a little stinker! ha-ha
By the way, my new MSA M3 is black, cause we all know they sound better.
Oh, and can you do something about that hideous tie I'm wearing?

I think red, white, and blue sounds better; or cherry sunburst, or??? Of course they all sound better with someone else playing them. LOL

Great looking steel! Thanks for sharing!

MSA and their steels were always great!

Another Great reason for Maurice "Reece" Anderson and Julian THarpe for induction into THE STEEL GUITAR HALL OF FAME!

Tommy, it is always great to see you and your lovely wife Teresa. This time it was even more special. What a thrill to build one of my all time heroes a new guitar. Welcome home to the MSA family.

That MSA M3 sure has got all the features a guy would want on a guitar.

I miss not being able to get the Opry on tv anymore and watching Tommy play...al

And I don't doubt for a minute that with the workmanship and design involved, the MSA M3 is worth every penny.

But they ain't exactly givin' those puppies away-for the price, it darn well better have all the features a guy would want on a guitar, Al!

I checked out those photos on the website-I hadn't seen Randall Currie's new paisley trimmed black MSA. Pretty cool!

One of the benefits of playing for a successful artist like Brad Paisley. I know a guy that used to be in his band, he said with Brad you travel in style.

One of only a handful of mainstream country singers that I like. Brad is a top-notch singer/songwriter and serious Telecaster picker, and Randall (Randle?) Curry is one fine steeler.

What a great killer combination...Tommy White and the new MSA! Hey Tommy, since I could never get Johnny Cox to leave his home door open at night when I lived in TX so I could steal his MSA, maybe you will since I live only 3 hours away from you now(Birmingham)! HA Congratulations on purchasing your new MSA.

Did you guys hear Randle Currie this weekend playing his with Brad Paisley. I'm a huge Randall fan but always found his live tone a little bright to my liking, but, the new MSA was really warm and punchy..... sweeeet Image

Didn't hear him, Bob. Where would we have heard him?

I think they came through town about 90 minutes north of me pretty recently at Konocti up at Clear Lake, but I had to be somewhere else at the time.

That guitar that Randle has is by far the best looking guitar I've seen yet and his playing is right there with it.

Great pic of Tommy...but what we need is someone to put up the pic from his first album..i think he was around 15yr old? What a gentleman and married to a great lady. Thanks for being a great ambassador of the steel guitar.
