What does your practice area /room look like ?
Here's my mess..
I practice thru my Yamaha AW2816 'wittle workstation studio....Art Dual 12AX7 Pramp, Bheringer headphone amp, etc... Have CD player routed thru the system and the system is set up to record on the fly as well...all effects/patches written on the Yamaha 2816...no outboard gear necessary here at home...I generally practice thru the phones but can also go live thru the 5" near fields...or the little 35 watt Peavey sittin' there collecting dust..
All of my stage gear is down ( as in 1 level below ) in the garage, the amps, the effects racks..all that STUFF..I do not practice with my stage rig..and I don't do stairs well either...
I'll save b0b the bandwidth..
here is photo link,

ps..pay no attention to that Banjo....

Well guys, my practice room is, 26'x52' full basement. Back in one end I have a 13'x'15' stage set up, patches of carpet on 3 sides and the floor, the ceiling is less than 8', pa set that I run cd player through, with steel twin amps set up, drum set, but it's hard for me to play steel and drums at the same time. So I set there 2 to 4 hours each day and pick, I have to quit every little bit cause my butt gets to hurting, setting on that stool so long. I may not be getting to play out much but I'm playin in all the time, better than nuttin.
[This message was edited by Tony Farr on 08 February 2005 at 04:57 AM.]

Bill, my Zum is even closer to the computer and monitor then yours and I get a lot of noise in my Vegas 400. I don't get that when I play out. Do you have that problem?
Tony, I notice the banjo is segregated from the guitars, smart move.

Howard, I don't get pickup noise from the Apple flat panel monitor, but I just recently added an older CRT monitor on the left side of the table (moved the rack to the right) and its EMI noise does seep into the PSG pickup. So I just shut the CRT off when I'm practicing or tracking (the flat panel monitor is still there, in the middle, so I can continue to use the Mac).

Gotta throw some **** out. Had to move (temporarily) to the dining room 'cause there's too much stuff in the attic. Anybody want a desk and a stuffed chair?

Man you guys are neat! An inspiration! Makes me question what I am doing wrong. I only have a 9X12 music room and I'm busting at the seams with 30 years of instruments, amps, books/manuals, magazines, tapes, CD's, etc. Do you guys just throw tons of stuff out, or do you have storage areas elsewhere? I have a nice computer and recording setup in here too, but it lives in between all the above mentioned items.

I'm with you Robert, I cannot figure how they keep their rooms so neat. There is nothing on the floor and all the cables are coiled up just so. How do you find anything?I am not certain that a noisy, smokey bar isn't a more ideal location. My room?
