Something to consider...

In the House of God Church (where Robert Randolph learned his stuff), the reason for many of the young guys learning the steel is to get the girls.

When I play clubs I get the old. You're a killer keyboard player. Most times I don't tell em any different. But now with the Robert Randolph thing catching on.A few of the younger ones know it's a steel guitar.Maybe I'll start fessing up. Image

BTW Steve, their are a few steel guitar groupies. But only a handfull in SC.So you've hit the ground running.Did you at least get her number or give her mine?? Image

I play a little more than just the "AB swing" and I can pretty much guarantee that isn't going to be happening to me anytime soon. Maybe once in 20 years of playing has something like that happened to me. Lets face it, if this was the case, There would be a helluva lot more Steel Players in the World. Unless you are a "real looker" to the ladies, consider yourself lucky.

Well I must admit it has happened to me quite a few times..........but as my wife has always been the bass player and one of the singers in the band for about 20 years.....well..er........"Dont you Just Hate That?!!!!!!!!!!"

Oh Yeh!!!!..I do remember one night the gold chains..the earings.......the big hairdo......dancing close to my end of the stage all night.......and asking requests and fluttering the eylashes................glad my wife was there to look after me...........didnt fancy him at all!!!!!!!!!!!.......thinking about it...I might give up the steel guitar for some Redneck Kind of thing!!!!!
[This message was edited by Tony Davis on 18 July 2004 at 04:20 AM.]

Every once in a while one should rent and watch the old Clint Eastwood classic "Play Misty for Me". It'll keep the imagination at bay. Kinda a precursor to "Fatal Attraction" by 15-20 years....

The same thing happened to me once, but the lady in question weighed about 400 pounds.

Just my luck.

So many women, so little time.

Don't you hate it when you have to choose between spending time with women and practicing on your steel?

So many licks to learn, so little time.

The title of this Thread is:

"Could somebody explain??????"

I hope to do that in this post.

Blue Monday, Warsh Day on the Cotton Mill Hill in Ware Shoals S.C. has come and gone. Ole Stephen was seen Hanging out his Laundry on the clothes line with a far and distant look on his face yesterday. No doubt still re-living this fantasy.

Friends, This boy has a serious problem, he needs to be back on his medication. Image Don't encourage him, or his next tale will be bigger and wilder.

He does have a heck of an imagination tho. Just think Stephen, Before a person laughs out loud, They smile just before. Image

Stephen See your doctor immediately, He can help you!! This really didn't happen, just part of your over fertile imagination and not taking your medication. Image

This could have happened to Mike Bagwell Imageand Stephen was just on the sideline watching, Is this what happened, Comon now, Fess up. Image

So This is my explaination:
Its all Mike's Fault!!! Image

BOY OH BOY, John, nothing slips by you, does it??? This thread was about the STEEL GUITAR, NOT my animal magnetism, or lack thereof. And, uh, your neighbors called---they want you to come down from the roof, take off the red beanie hat, and stop screaming "SALUDA" at the top of your lungs.
I think Charles and Buddy are making an appointment for you with the vet. It'll be a nice ride, John. Buddy even said you can ride up front, at least on the way there...

You need to stop reacting so defensively, I'm trying to help you get yourself straightened out. Image They won't keep you in that room with those soft padded walls too long, if you will go back on your medication ImageThose men in the white coats are there to help you. Image They are going to give you a nice jacket so you can sit in the corner and hug yourself as long as you want. Image
