Christian Country Band

Post by Hal Higgins »

I have just started playing steel with a progressive Christian Country Gospel Band from the Baton Rouge, LA area. I laid the steel tracks for their first project a couple of weeks ago, and they asked me to join up with them and I did, and am enjoying it very much.....here's their web-site address: www.philadelpheia.com Take a look.

Hal
I bookmarked the site and get the
mp3's later. When I first heard the
songs I was reminded of a group called
White River. Keep up the good work.

Hal, I listened to the MP3 files. That is my kind of music. I agree, sounds a bit like White River. I am trying to organize a group here in East Texas to do the same type material. Keep up the good music.

Hal,
Whoever does your website needs to take some spelling lessons. Not only do they have your last spelled wrong, the word PEDAL has a "D" rather than a "T". Other than that, you guys have a great sound. Go for it Man!
[This message was edited by Nick Reed on 12 February 2004 at 06:51 AM.]

Congratulations on getting with a good outfit, Hal. You would be a great addition to any group. Don't let them know how good you are on keyboards and vocals -- they will work you to death.

Hal, This is a really nice website! I wish you the very best in this endeavor.
I must agree with Nick, there are some spelling errors that should be corrected. Unless it was intended to be
so,Philadelphia is misspelled through out. There is no e following the h.

An ambidexterous steel player, left handed in one picture, right handed in another. LOL

Seriously, I'm sure this gig is a blast. Good luck.

That's what I thought. I think he is the Hal Higgins that used to live here in EL Do Ar or maybe he was just holding a revival here.
but I do know he's a great steel player.

You guys should check out the Paul Overstreet Christian albums, if you haven't already done it. There's some great stuff on there... and Paul Franklin plays steel on most of it.

Sounds like a great gig!

Terry....you're absolutely right....I lived in El Dorado for a couple of years or so, and was back several times preaching and ministering in music.

This gospel group is great....they're very talented. Check out the web-site at: www.philadelpheia.com

Hal, I just read your Bio, and didn't know you played Keyboard and Bass to.
I used to play Bass a little, and still do sometime at church, but I'm not very good on it. I've been playing the 6-string for about 40 years. my wife and I sing specials at church. We attend Green Grove Assembly of God just east of EL Dorado. My mother and Step father use to attend First United Pentecost in EL Dorado, right off college street. Reba and Clinton Vance. keep up the good work Hal, maybe we'll meet someday.

Congratulations....

I am going thru putting together a country Christian band at the moment myself. I have a drummer, lead guitar and lead singer... though everyone is an excellent vocalist. I'm still trying to find a bass player and a keyboard player... but the folks I have so far are all touring quality musicians wanting to play for the Lord.

Well, Hal Higgins has a fine one! This band can go anywhere! Hal was sounding fine as usual thru that 1985 LeGrande! Sweet!
I had to leave the gig a little early and Hal subbed for me on the last set. Stayed long enough to hear him play "Beulah Land".
WOW! Thanks Hal!

Reggie....my good friend and great picker, It's always a pleasure to get to be at the Country Village and get to play steel with the guys, but especially tonight with a group of guys that I really believe are gonna go places in the Christian Country Music Industry. Brian Lee Harris is one of the finest writers that I have ever had the pleasure of working with, along with the rest of the group "Philadelpheia". I know that there's going to be a great deal of air play for their up and coming single release, and the country is gonna be hearing and seeing them a great deal. I want to thank the staff of the Country Village for letting us come and be a blessing to the folks who come to listen to great Christian Country and Southern Gospel Music each week. Reggie, thanks for being a great friend, too. You know how much I admire you and all the talent you posess (and we know from Whom that comes)! HAL
