I'm a rail buff. I like watch trains, taking photos of trains, and riding them when I can. The internet is a great hobby of mine and there are lots of websites on trains where you can get good photos others have taken. Music used to be my hobby but has now turned into my main job and I like it that way. I do work as a paramedic when I'm not playing and I really enjoy that. There's nothing like rolling up on a cardiac arrest, grabbing my jumper cables and laying the Georgia Power to 'em and have them sit up and start talking to ya. It don't happen that way much but when it does, it's great!

Danny,unfortunately when I get a cardiac arrest call, Mr. Steele will get most of the business. I've been a paramedic for nearly 12 years now and out of the many calls, I can remember 4 saves where I had them talking to me before I got to the hospital. 2 of which passed away soon after anyway despite our best efforts. At least they got to see and talk to family one last time. The other 2 are still around. That's not good odds but every little bit helps I guess.

Jim, you have to be very careful about reversing the polarity on those things. That's how rap was invented!

I would like to say that I echo what Mr. Carl Dixon said about his hobbies. I also have woodworking as one. But mine has gone from a hobbie to repairing and building furniture for stores, dealers and individuals. I stay busy all the time with it. My wife thinks I like picking and woodworking over her sometimes, but I don't.
The last time I talked with Mr. Dixon was in Georgia at his Thanksgiving picking. I sure wish he would do some more of them again. I first met him at the Gospel Steel Guitar Convention in Indianapolis, Ind.,
and I really think he is an outstanding person.

I'm into cars! (I have a '69 SS 396 Nova i.e. 60's muscle car). I dig car racing (NHRA, NASCAR/Winston Cup, Dirt Track Racing, "WOO" sprint cars, etc) and any weekend night during the racing season that I'm not pickin' you'll find me somewhere at some race track. Here in the Nashville area, it's usually "Hiland Rim" oval track, "Nashville Fairgrounds", or "Music City Raceway".
So, if I'm not talkin' "Steel Guitar", I'm probably talking/watching/or lookin' at "cars!"...RRUUMMM RRRUUMMM!!!!!

Amateur rado:I hold the amateur extra call of W4UN.I have been licensed for the last 20 years and have many friends all over the world,that I have never seen and will never meet but have made and impact on me.
I also like Nebraska football collectables,and also late model pinball machines.
I recently have gotten interested in home theater.I have purchased a projector and am looking to purchase a 106"-120"diagnal screen.this way I can see the Titans and the cornhuskers win with players on the screen that are the same size as on the field. Amateur Extra Class, let see... that must mean 21 WPM and the full gallon on lots of different wavelengths & modulations.

I caught the 4 letter callsign right away, a sign of a true (or old) keypounder.

The neighbors christmas lights turn on even when they're not plugged in?

My hobby is the PSG, for my career is making computers run machines. Side interests include digital audio restoration and video production.

For the past 25 years I have been into Custom Leather , I make some holsters and other hunting items, but mostly, Custom made guitar straps, I designed a pick and bar pouch that fits on your steel.. also oil painting..

Was into RC planes, flew with Ron, Don Coleman,Jim Kirkland, Jim Edwards,all former Nationals winners.Won few contest myself. Some of these won the international meet.
Bass fishing, largest 13 pounds, Pro. Photog. PCs. My PSG is my greatest hobby. i JUST LOVE PLAYING FRIDAY NIGHTS FOR THE elderly to dance.
Was a pastor for 25 years (not a hobby).

I love my hobbies so much I had to reply to this post.

Bass fishing in my 21' bassboat, driving fast bassboats, Trains/Railfan, Model Railroading (formerly HO, now in N scale) and golf.

That's why my house is located along the Mohawk River (great smallmouths) four minutes from the boat launch, 100 yards from the CSX (formerly Conrail) mainline between NY and Chicago and two miles from a great 18 hole golf course. I also have a huge basement which can be home to a substantial N Scale railroad which is currently under construction.

Oh yeah, I love my wife and the pedal steel just as much.

Can't believe how many Airplane people are here. I build and fly R/C aircraft from electric indoor to giant scale. I fly my 1946 Taylorcraft every chance I get. I have an on going project of building a real Baby Great Lakes airplane. (and I mean on going). And in my spare time I play music almost every week-end
