Buddy set his Furman PQ-3 on a folding chair for the "Live At The Convention" double Lp. I liked the setup so much, I went out and bought both pieces and the Lp. My chair is a Steinway. Ask for them at your local piano store.

I can't recall...was the color of that chair black? And did he push or pull it over to the steel?

Terry,

Of course the chair was black. We all know black chairs sit better Image

Thanks for the picture, Mike - but shouldn't it be in 'Electronics'?

b0b...we need a furniture page!
Also, if Buddy endorses a chair or starts his own chair factory, they will sell very well

A necessary accessory would be an old wooden beer or coke case to place upside down on the chair to make it higher for long legged players! Image

I take it that you guys all realise that what you see there is the 'Emmons' set-up - if Buddy played 'Day' (sort-of unlikely, I know), the chair would be at the other end of the steel (like I have mine.....)

I got to get one of those chairs. After all these years, we've finally got the missing secret. Put me down for one but no cheap imitations, please.

Seeing as how I am just a rank amateur, I am going to start out with a cheap lawn chair and work my way up to a professional chair in a few years. Hopefully there will be an Emmons Autograph model by then!!

Boys, I think we're on to something. After this post, I'll be heading downtown to the Nashville Tent and Awning Company to check on some material for the cushions. If I design a professional model, I'll have a pocket in the fabric large enough to carry an effect. When you opened the chair, the effect would pop up and you'd plug in and fly into it.
For players just starting out, they could use the pocket to cart their accessories around, much like the pack-a-seat. I could call it the Starter Carter. See how one good idea leads to another?

Buddy,
I think the "Starter Carter" is a great idea, as you appear to have waay too much time on you hands. Image Image
OK, your shot. Image

BTW, THANKS for helping last weekend be the most enjoyable show in a long time.

You know what, bob? Someone earlier in this thread suggested a 'Furniture' page - I think we need a 'Loonies' page.

Perhaps you could appoint Smiley Roberts as moderator?

Now Buddy Emmons himself has become a little 'unhinged', it's like the Earth has tilted on its axis....

When I use a seat for my rack I prefer a
Universal Rundel, but I can't get it in Black.
And everybody KNOWS black seats sound best. Image
[This message was edited by David L. Donald on 04 September 2003 at 10:05 AM.]

Hey Smiley,
I don't want to compete with Buddy, but if you're really interested I can send you some stool samples.
