Cool Santo & Johnny album

Post by Ron Victoria »

I came across this album on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=306&item=4735561368&rd=1

I think I had it as a teenager. What slant might that be?

Did you notice the bar and right hand in the picture?

Now that's different!

I hope he really didn't play that way.

Wow...that's quite a way to hold a bar. I also notice he is using black plastic finger picks. I still have about 8 of those picks in my collection. Image

Guy's,

I have this album as well a few others that I bought from that time.

I saw him play with Johnny at a really small bar at Rosselle Park, NJ in the early "70's". The room was so small so it was up "close and personal".

As I racall, Santo used a more conventional hand position with the bar. I have to say, the night I went, there was hardly anyone there...I had to opportunity to speak with Santo and Johnny on break...they were very congenial and pleasant to talk to....and yes, they did put on a great show. TX

rgds,

Ron

Johnny played at the Steel Convention last year in St. Louis. He had a booth set up with CDs and liked to chat.

.........however,I find,$29.95 a little "pricey" for a "45EP"(4 songs),since I bought the whole 12" album,(12 songs) a while back,for $10.00

Okay guys, you better buy now, because they're all "sleepers", and someday soon, they all will be worth big $$$. I'm waiting to put my 9,000 LP's on eBay!!!! I have a couple copies of the 12 incher LP, as well as several other S & J albums.
