New Steel Magazine out?

Post by Bowie Martin »

I subscribed to a new steel magazine that was suppose to be out in February. Does anyone know anything about it or had anyone received a copy?

I've subscribed to this magazine too and I haven't gotten it yet. As far as I know, it's coming out towards the end of this month. Hopefully, it'll be out this coming week. Terry said there's a lot of things in there. I'm really glad Terry decided to come out with pedalsteel.us. I wondered after the last magazine stopped if there was gonna be another magazine for steel players. I just hope this new magazine is a success. Brett Day, Emmons S-10, Morrell lapsteel

In an earlier post I asked if anyone who subscribed had received a copy of the magazine. Everyone that responded said they had not recevied a copy yet. Maybe Terry can give us some insight as to when we will be receiving the magazine. It was my understanding it would be in late Febuary. This is the last week in Febuary so it should be soon.

There's an update and an explanation posted elsewhere ('Buy & Sell', I think) - I'm looking forward to this!

Yes, Charlie you are correct. Initially, we intended to have this first issue in-hand (the readers hands) before the end of the first week of February. As things would happen, this finish date was delayed due to circumstances beyond our control. (Mostly because of extra articles that are being included in the first issue, as well as the standard "first issue bugs".) I am not complaining, but I have basically cancelled all playing steel gigs/sessions for the last two-three weeks to put this magazine out, and have worked anywhere from 16-19 hours daily (yes, even Sundays) to make up the lost time and get this issue out. I am sure everyone who remains excited will be very happy when this first issue arrives! Thanks for being patient and understanding.

Terry, I'm very excited about this magazine and I'm glad that it'll have a lot of information about steel guitars and steel guitarists. I remember when I read the first post aboutt supporting a magazine about steel guitar, I said yes, because the steel guitar is my favorite instrument. I'm definitely looking forward to the first issue. Brett, Emmons S-10, Morrell lapsteel
