Janee` Keener on CMT

Post by Wayne Smith »

Yes, I know Janee` is a fiddle player, but she is the steel players friend. Last night she appeared with Terri Clark on the Canadian Country Music Awards Program which aired on CMT. We send our congratulations for an outstanding performance and wish her a great future with her tremendous talents. I agree Wayne. She is one of the most talented people I have ever met, and I think before her career is through, it will just be nice to say - "yeah, I played a show with her."

Sincerely,

Janee and my grand-daughter are both attending "good old Belmont college" in Nashville....gotta have something, (like an engineering degree), to fall back on when music fails you! www.genejones.com

Hey Jenee, tell 'em every chance you get who the first steel player was you ever played a show with. Shoot you might even stretch a little and tell 'em who got you interested in the steel guitar. Come on girl, I ain't famous for nothin, surely you can help me get a little claim to fame here. Image

Guess what? Jeneé wanted to be in St. Louis real bad but she was playing with Terri Clark in Anchorage Alaska, Thursday night of that weekend. It came close though...they drove through St. Louis on Monday (Labor Day) on the way home. Presently they are in London Ontario and she is enjoying every bit of this venture, even the seaplane rides in Alaska.

Jeneé will perform with Larry Cordle and Lonesome Standard Time this Friday on WSM AM 650, 8:30 to 9:00PM Central.

Yeap, she is one of my favorites! She can handle anything thrown at her. She played on Hal's great CDs, "Finally" and "Sliding to Scale." Simply Superb.

I saw her in Dallas 2000 and Grass Valley, CA last June with Larry Cordle. She is great and such a wonderful person. One of the few pro musicians I have met that really seem to love what they do. Good for her.

Hey Janee', tell Dave Talbot and David Pomeroy I said hi and to call if they get back out to Northern California.

Thank y'all so much! The CCMA's were a BLAST, and I'm so glad that I got to be a part of it. It was my first 'big' TV show, and it was quite an experience. Terri is a wonderful lady, and I'm proud to say I'm working for her now...so glad she got the "Fan Choice Award" as well. Touring w/ an artist is always something I've wanted to do, and I'm having the time of my life! Thank you all for your encouragement...it means more than you know! I sure miss seeing you all at the steel guitar shows...I learn so much every time I'm at one!

Again, thank y'all so much! Hope to see ya around!

~Jeneé

Wayne: You're too sweet for mentioning this on the forum! Image (Tell Perceline 'hello!')

Gene: exactly...
Joey: I missed being at the ISGC so much!
Roy: We finally got to sit on the same side of the stage w/ our Evans didn't we? :-D
Robert: It was so good to see you at the Bell Cove...ya' played great!
Ronald: Thanks!
Jerry: YOU WERE THE FIRST STEEL GUITARIST I PERFORMED WITH! (hehe) (Is that better?) Image
Milton: Thanks for updatin' 'em...I've GOTTA get down to Cajun country sometime soon!
Frank: Good to hear from you Image
Jack: FF=Fiddle Faddle...love it!
Buck: Miss you and Mitzi so much!
Patrick: So glad I got to meet you in CA! Check out Terri's schedule (www.terri-clark.com)...we may be in your area sometime...and I'll tell the "Dave's" you said hey.
