My absolute favorite steel player!
Here's some questions:
1.What CD/album has "From a Distance" on it?
2.Where can I buy it? (Bob, do you carry it?)
3.Is there a Lloyd Green web site?
4.Will Lloyd be at St. Louis this year?
5.Where can I buy the LG/Tommy White video?

Lloyd has such a great way with a melody line....I never get tired of listening to him!

Without a doubt, my favorite E9th player. I don't know if any of his albums are available for public consumption. I sure would love to see his old albums reissued, I'd be all over that!! I think the only thing available is the Panther Hall album by Charley Pride. If you don't have it yet, get it. Lloyd's playing is pretty neato torpedo!!

You can get several of them on CD from Scotty. I have (Lloyd Green & His Steel) (Steel Man) (Ten Shades Of Green) (Moody River)(Nashville Sound), and I think I have Reflections, but I can't find it. I also have all of his old albums on 331/3 records. There are probably more of them on CD that I don't have.

I've got a couple of his albums but I don't have one I'd like. Does anyone know which album he did Glen Campbell's "Dreams of the Everyday Housewife"? I heard it a couple of times and he did a superb job on that tune....

I baught a few of his albums at the Earnest Tubb Record Shop in Nashville one night when I went to the Midnight Jamboree. You can by the Tommy White Video and Bruce Boutons Pedal Head website or you can go to tommy site(go to links, stars of the steel guitar and then to Tommy White) and he has the link.

Have any of you guys heard Lloyd's ride on Kenny Price's song, "Charlotte Fever?" That was also the title of the album (RCA, circa 1971 or 72) which had more great Lloyd stuff besides the title cut. Heck, Kenny even sang great behind Lloyd's great work !!

What a fantastic, innovative ride and fills. And you know it had "that" tone. If you've never heard this recording, try to find it so you can.

I met Lloyd about three days after I went to work for Gene Watson. Lloyd was cutting Gene's records then. He has always been one of my heros and getting to meet him and find out what a good person he is was something I'll never forget. I was lucky enough to do many of Gene's records later on, but even though I wear size 14E shoes, I still found it tough to fill Lloyd's shoes.

Hey Tiny I played bass for Kenny Price for many years & he always said that that was one of his favorite recordings !

Ps. When he hadn't had a little nip Kenny sang well on a lot of stuff !!

Hey Jim...

Were you with Kenny at a fair in Iowa around '76 I'd say?? I was there with Little David Wilkens and Kenny and Johnny Russell (who I also worked with)were also on the show. The promoter billed the show as "A thousand pounds of country sound." I told the guys that I thought he sold it short. Kenny did sound great, I always liked his singing.

Lloyd did it up right on that Charlotte fever (and all others that he ever played on) album. I can't get enough of his playing.

Tiny I was there. We had a great little 4 piece band with a japanese fiddle player (Toshy Tanioka) that was excellent. Great to hear from you again.
