Send To" options

Post by Carter York »

Hey y'all,

Running Win2k Pro, can one set up a "Send To" shortcut (in the right mouse click menu)to 'move' the file as opposed to 'copying' the file? I think the answer is no, but maybe it can be done.

Thanks alot!

I don't think so. Send To is designed to copy files to applications or the floppy drive. Ctrl-X, Ctrl-V works fine for me.

Instead of Send To, try this:

<ol>[*]Open Windows Explorer (Windows Key + E).
[*]Locate the file you want to move.
[*]Right-click the file then, while holding the right button, drag it to the new directory/location. A popup menu displays.
[*]Select Move Here. Windows copies the file to the new location and deletes the old file in one step.[/list]

Thanks Jim, Jeff,

Both of those are what I use currently, just thought I'd throw it out there.

Thanks again,

Carter
