I haven't turned my printer off for 3 years!

It happens to be in an awkward spot so I just leave it on.
The power supply says 30 watts so it uses next to nothing for electricity.
It works perfectly so......why not?

No problem at all. In fact, a lot of printers don't even have a power switch!

When not in use for several hours, printers, especially ink jets, should be powered off. This is to return the ink cartgidges/print heads to the 'home' position. Otherwise, the ink may dry out more quickly and also clog the print head. --Everett

I have two HP inkjet printers that are always on. They've both been on for years. I've never had a problem with either of them.

I have always left my HP inkjets powered up 24/7 with no problems. The cartridges are parked for storage whenever a document finishes printing, not just when the machine is powered off.

I never leave my HP deskjet "on", but i do leave it plugged in and my power block has taken to humming so i now must unplug it when not in use.

I used to turn mine off after using it, but the power switch failed (luckily in the "on" position) about 2 years ago. So it now stays on full time. If I need it off for any reason I have to unplug it.
