can't copy file or photos

Post by steve takacs »

Until a couple weeks ago, I had no trouble copying a photo or file on one try. Now I have to do the process of copying the same thing twice for it to work. The first time I try copying and then click on the icon for the file, I get a message saying "can't find file". Anyone know what gives? "Picture Viewer" is the part of the software that is used here. Many thanks, Steve

Steve;
I don't know what all you're doing to save the picture, but here's the process for acquiring a picture with Windows: Right click on the image and select "Save Picture As..." Then find the folder you want to save it in with the drop-down menu and click save. Then locate the file on your computer by going to that folder.
BTW: Some pages have scripts running that disables the right click. You'd have to go about it a whole different way, but that's another thread entirely.
Good luck!

Thanks, Ernie. I have using the procedure you suggested to copy. For some reason, I had to go through the process twice. Now the problem seems to have reasolved itself. I only wish I knew why these things happened.

Steve;
I had a problem a while back that I couldn't copy a picture as it was posted, but only as a bmp file. I could still open it with the image editor, but then I had to save it as a jpg or gif. Turned out after I cleared the temporary internet files, (from a suggestion on here,) it corrected itself. I guess the file was full.
Glad yours resolved itself! Hopefully it won't happen again. If it does, try clearing the files.
