Another 2C worth.
Believe it or not I can do this in my truck.
I use the pre amp out from my amplifier into line in on computer. I use Cool edit 2000 and Nero burn software. I have had good luck removing noise with Cool edit.
(In case you are wondering, I spend much more time in the truck than at home}

John:
This is off topic but hope you can provide an answer. I have quite a few Benny Berry and Daniel O'Donnell songs, recorded in Ireland, with a lot of great steel on them. Who would most probably be the player used over there??

Well a guy by the name of Kevin Sheerin played steel with Daniel O Donnell for some time.Kevin also plays lead!
Kevin has a recording studio too and wrote a song called"In My Fathers House" a few years back.It was very popular on radio here.
Around that time Kevin left Daniel and was replaced by a guy called Richard Nelson from Dublin who incidently was in St Louis at ISGC 2000.I saw him in the crowd!
All I know now that Kevin is back playing with Daniel again.
Depending on how old the recordings are and where in Ireland they were recorded my guess would be Kevin playing on those tracks.
He's a good player been playin a long time.
Does a lot of classic licks etc in his playing.
Hope this helps Graham!........JOHN

John;
Very helpful. Thank you. That song you mention is a very pretty number. I have it by Foster and Allen. They recorded it in 1996 on an album called "Ireland". They also use a lot of steel in some of their music.

Have a great time in Dallas!!
