Explorer window split

Is there any way to split the Explorer window so I can view 2 file folders at the same time. I want to visually compare the files in 2 different folders to transfer related files to their proper folders.

This would be helpfull comparing my Cad files and music libraries and whatever.

I know that I can search for identical and/or related files, but it gets tedious and time consuming after a while.

I hope I explained this correctly.

Joe,
The usual way to do what you ask is to open two Explorer windows simultaneously. That should work fine, with one current directory in one window and a different drive:directory combination in the other.

There are some third party products (PowerDesk comes to mind) that have dual windows, but I tend to stay away from adding programs when the OS itself will do what I need.

Also by right-clicking the task bar (the one with the start menu on it) you get the options of tiling windows horizontally or vertically. This makes both windows visible at the same time.[This message was edited by Alan Michael on 29 August 2001 at 08:28 AM.]
