CD-R question

Post by winston »

Does anyone know of any problems I would have with 2 CD-R burners and a regular CDROM in the same machine? I have installed 2 Yamaha CD-RW's along with the regular CDROM. They seem to work fine but I can only burn a disc at 4X when coping a cd without using my hard drive for storage. With the old CD-R I was burning at 8X. My computer is an 800MHz Pentium III, with 512MB RAM and 2 hard drives, 30 and 40 gig.

I'm curious as to WHY you would need 2 burners!?!?!

I don't beleive that you can burn to both at the same time.

My first guess would be the way you have them configured on the controllers. Was your old configuration with the CD-ROM and CD-R on the same controller or separate controllers?

Tommy, thanks for the info. Found what I needed. John, they are on whatever the old cdrom and CD-R was on. I think they are on the same controller. Hopefully I found the answer. thanks to everyone.

C. Allen,
According to the Nero CD burning software that I use, it's supposed to be able to burn to multiple drives at once. I only have the one burner, so of course have never actually tried it.

Take care,
