Anyone in the Northeast use LocalNet?
I've been running WebTV since i came online in Fall of '97. I've been avoiding putting my computer online for financial reasons, tracking reasons, and the simplicity of using WebTV. I finally gave in today and searched the net for online services. I was almost going to sign up with AT&T until i did one last search. I found LocalNet.com $9.95 per month, no hard drive hogging software. Just use your connection wizard to set up the configuration. So far it's been working great. I just got finished downloading Windows crtical update. Anyways, i have great respect for, and feel some relief, there are still companies that don't try to monitor your every move on the net. Hopefully, LocalNet will continue to serve me well. I have to laugh that when i dial-in (they call it "dial-in), i hear rotary numbers. But, my speed seems ok. The pages here load fast. How can i check my speed? Do i need to download some software or does it exist on Explorer? Thanks.
