CHIP - Thanks for the info on the two different SB Live soundcard. I was told almost the same thing by the salesperson at COMP USA, ( thus far I've been to Best Buy & Comp USA, next weekend I'll be at Sam Ash & Mars)I was also told that the Platinum has upgrades that one can download if you had the other SB LIVE MP+3. Also the Platinum has an extra front loading I/O unit.

JACK - Right on target, I usually go back a second time when I'm hunting for a computer item or musical piece of equipment, I try to get another salespersons opinion. I have been asking around my job and friends I have who are into computers about the various brands of soundcards that are out there for the consumer. One of the computer nerds at work went to a computer show over the weekend in West Palm Beach, I asked him to try and find out some info on soundcards, unfortunately he was out sick today.

I once asked a salesperson at MARS if they sell pedal steel guitars, he said no but I could check one out at Home Depot.

Thanks for the replies.

I stay away from Mars Music, as they won't deal. Locally Sam Ash, Paragon Music and most of the "local" music stores will deal. The local (Tampa) Mars music is "what is on the price tag" and that's it (unless there is a special sale on a particular item).
