Has anyone else been experiencing this lately on Windows Update website? I have
ME, but this probably could apply to all WIN versions.
The download happens OK....everything moves right along.....but when the INSTALLATION begins, the progress bar gets about 1/3 of the way and appears to stall.
The little files are still flying thru the air from one folder to the other, but it
all looks stalled.
Then when you hit 'cancel' and try to get off of Windows webpage, it won't let you...
so you wind up shutting down the 'wrong' way.
Has anyone else been going thru this as well?
It sure is a pain!

Chip, I've had that happen quite a few times. I've tried downloading several updates from MS and it's hung up. It's the Conexion service that Microsoft (and others) use. They have to be the slowest download service around. When I was on 56Kb dialup I would download many times less than 1Kb/sec on a Conexion server and almost all the other download servers were in the 3 to 4Kb/sec range. With DSL it's no different, they are s l o w.

Thanks again Jack,
Our bass player of late is a pc programmer
for some big company in the Hartford, CT area
and he thought there maybe some kind of 'help'about this slow download at the Windows Update site.
So I guess now there are 2 problems. We know
the 1st one, and the 2nd one is - Just how long does it take to find this 'help' at Windows Update site? Movin' around there is about as fast as the download/installs.
PS - I'm going inside pc to check on those connectors to the USB ports as you suggested.
