Forum Steelers Screensaver

Post by Graham »

Some little while back, I did up a steel guitar screensaver which is available for download on the Rebel™ and Ricky site. Ernie Renn also has a steel screensaver on the Buddy Emmons site.

What I am thinking of now, if there is an interest, is doing up a screensaver of Forum members. It would require any/all who are interested in sending me a picture in .jpg format by email. Name should be included and make of steel (if in the pic) could also be included and would be added to the pic in the saver. As is the case with most every thing I do, this would be a free download to anybody when completed.

Please let me know what you think and if interested, send me a pic by email. If the response is overwhelming, in the interst of keeping the saver small, I will do up more than one, in which case you could change savers as you see fit.

Graham,
Is there a fairly easy way to take a photo
and scan it, and then somehow make into a
jpg. format? Or is additional software required?

Thanks

Chip:
If you have a scanner, chances are the scanner software has the capabilities of letting you save the scanned picture in any of a number of formats. .jpg, I think is best as the file is compressed so tends to give good quality in a small file size.

Have received two pics so far.

I have your screen saver, which includes all the works. A beautiful job. I also have the album from which the picture was scanned. I often wondered if that wasn't Pete Drake when
he was young and skinny.

You don't need my picture, I'm sure.

Think you are talking about the Windows Theme I did up quite some time back. That was where I used the picture of Pete Drake.

HI GRAHAM;
I personally think it's a great idea. I'm using your other screen saver right now and love it. I don't have a real good pic of me and my borrowed steel yet, but if you don't mind a "VERY RANK" amature, I'd be HONORED to be included with all you folks. Count on "THE SQUIRE".

Open to any and all Forum members who wish to participate. Might be nice to put a face with the names of those we converse with so often. Image
