Can't open audio files

Post by Alan Michael »

Help forumites. Had to re-format my hard drive a few days ago... lost everything and now I'm rebuilding my files. The problem I'm having is I can't seem to open the audio files from Rebel and Rickys site. The message I get is that my computer can't download an appropriate decompressor. Can anybody get me on the right track? My brain is fried!

I don't know what kind of files are on Ricky's site, but if they are RealPlayer files you will need to download the RealPlayer program. If they are MP3 files you can download WinAmp (one of the most popular free players) or the free Windows media player. The Windows media player will handle just about all the various types of audio files, except RealPlayer.

Alan:
The clips on the site are done up in Real Audio. To hear them, you will need the free Real Player from http://www.real.com or the free Winamp player from http://www.winamp.com
Either of these will handle Real Audio files.

Thanks Jack and Graham, that did the job. By the way....I also downloaded the steel guitar theme and I think it's really neat. Can someone tell me the name of the song that plays as you exit Windows so I can search for the tab and audio files.

Alan:
The song I used for the Windows exit .wav is the outro of "Lost in the Feeling" as played by John Hughey. Can be found on the 1984 page of Ricky and I's site with the tab for it as well.

Thank you!!, hope you enjoy it. If you come across an intro break etc. you would rather have for one of the sounds in Windows, let me know and I will do it up as a .wav file and send it to you. I kinda did the stuff I liked when I made up the theme but they can be changed no problem.
