Virus Info

Post by John Rickard »

What does this mean & do, "The file attachment att1.htm you sent to the recipients listed above was
infected with the WScript/Kak.worm virus and was quarantined at the server
ABB-US01-USMTP2."
What is the cure.
Thanks in advance.

First, It sounds like your PC is infected with that particular virus. Second it looks like the e-mail server has a virus program running in it and detected the virus and did not forward the message and deleted it, and sent you a notice.

If you do not have a virus dectection/removal program go get one at once. You may be able to download an "evaluation copy" of Mcafee virusscan (they used to have it available for download and don't know for sure if it still is). F-Prot is a "shareware" virus detection program that is available for downloading. Whichever way you go, ultimately you should buy and install a virus detection program ASAP. They are relatively inexpensive and I've seen the McAfee Virusscan advertised for less than $20.
