Dayna,
Didn't see the one out there, but attended the one in San Antonio is early June. One of my all-time top entertainment experiences....great show. Of course, it is Asleep at the Wheel.
I highly recommend catching one of these when they are in your area.

I haven't seen the play you asked about but I played steel for two seasons with the Carl Ferinelli version, "Take Me Back To Tulsa".

I'm still looking forward to seeing the "Real" one if it ever plays close enough! Image

I saw it in Austin last year and was very impressed with the music and acting. Jason Roberts did a superb job as a young Bob Wills. If it plays around this area again I plan to go see it a second time.
