'Brown Eyed Girl' is another that will have me considering an overdose.

'Five 'o Clock Somewhere' with that pretentious spoken outro - YIKES!!! Another Jackson single that almost defies description is that 'Work In Progress'. he's written some fine songs, but this ain't one of them.

This thread has great potential, methinks.

By the way, my compliments on the thread's title - I love it!!! 'Ghastly' is one of my favourite words.

they would soon stop dumping their bedroom mistakes on the public school system. Can you say r-e-s-p-o-n-s-i-b-i-l-i-t-y?

I had those kids and by gum, that school's gonna raise 'em! I can drop 'em off at 6:30 and pick 'em up after work at 6:30! Why, I barely have to talk to 'em at all by time we get home, give 'em a TV dinner and off to bed!

Now, can we get them to stay open on the weekends?

If working or on leisure I only listen to what I want. Many times I prefer silence, or talk radio. Some work environments have the radio on for the entire day. I can not handle this. Fortunately, I work alone. In the garage the mechanic's radio can be turned off with a light switch at the front. If no one's in there I shut it off while saying, "SHUT UP!" in the process. Other times the mechanic caught me and a confrontation ensues, or he looks at me through the corner of his eyes and I switch it back on.

Ben-you really bummed me out by bringing this up:

That may be my single MOST HATED song of all time.

I also agree with "Bad,Bad, Leroy Brown"

Anything Jim Croce did that was any good was negated by that swill.

I'm sure he cleaned up on the royalty checks, but "Joy to the World" ("Jeremiah Was a Bullfrog"), was the absolute low point of an otherwise strong career of songwriting from Hoyt Axton. I might have a completely different image of Three Dog Night if it weren't for that song.

Ray, I have to disagree on Sheena Easton. I think she's a heck of a singer... but she was limited by some dopey material. And then she got mixed up with Prince...

Anything by Billy Joel. After seeing the video for 'Uptown Girl' I said "Enough is enough!" The very sight of those mechanics swinging their wrenches in time with the music and singing 'Ah Ah Ah Ah'... well, I knew my days of listening to top forty pop music were numbered. Or how about the song 'Movin'Out?' Every time I heard 'Ack Ack Ack Ack' I wanted to throw a tantrum.
