Has anyone heard their beautiful version of the Louvin Brothers classic "How's the world treating you."
The background isn't cluttered and their singing gives me goosebumps.
The video just has a camera on them while they sing.
As long as there are artists of this calibre, good music is alive and well.

Andy, I'm glad you brought this up. One of the prettiest songs I've heard. And no quirkie jerkie camera shots where your eyes can't adjust to a single scene. I have never figured out why that is done in videos, whether it be country or any other video. Maybe young kids eyes can adjust to the 1 milie instant scenes but I can't. AND if James and Allison put out a few more songs like that I'll buy the cd.

I love "How's The World Treating You" by Alison Krauss and James Taylor. There is some awesome steel work in the song. The steel playing sounds like Bruce Bouton. I sing along with the song when it comes on. Brett, Emmons S-10, Morrell lapsteel

I would have guessed lloyd green but maybe it is bruce.The going past the one chord and coming back to it made me think of Mr Green and the tone anybody know who steeled on it?

Absolutely the best cd out there...Patty Lovelace's & Jon Randall's harmony is so close, it's sounds like their voices are hooked to an on/off switch! Glen Campbell has never sounded as "honest" as he does on his song. Carl Jackson did a great job pairing the duos, and the music is knocked-out!

James Taylor is, simply, my favourite artiste.

He has an almost uncanny ability to place one foot firmly in any musical genre he chooses, but with complete integrity and respect for that form; this track is no exception.

His career has been punctuated with guest appearances, duets and the like, some of which are hard to trace now, but are at least as significant as his own albums have proved to be.

I know it's like stating the obvious, but how this man must love music!

Alison's not too shabby, either....

I caught James Taylor doing "Memphis" one night, I think he was on Saturday Night Live, and it was absolutely astounding.
(The tune that goes "Long distance information give me Memphis Tennessee...")Trouble is, no recorder on at the time. The clip of that song alone on a videotape would be worth a $50.00 bill to have in the archives..

Well, that trip to the music store just cost me $54. Bought the Livin' Lovin' Losin' CD and couldn't pass up the Jim Reeves Anthology or the Patsy Cline CD with "Just Out of Reach" on it. "How's the World Treating You" came on just as I was passing thru a congested part of town. Brought tears to my eyes to the point I almost wrecked. What a tune! That, and about every other tune on the CD. Thanks, fellow forumites, for turning me on to one of life's little treasures.
What a trip home.

Yes, the Singletary CD is excellent, especially "I Never Go Around Mirrors". Just found it at Walmart.

I got mine this weekend from "the source". I got it from Charlie Louvin himself. Charlie was playing in Sandstone MN on Saturday. It was a pleasure working with him as stage mgr.

It is a wonderful CD. The Charlie said the Taylor/Krause cut is one of his favorites along with the Pam Tillis/Johnny Cash.

Charlie put on a good show using our house band. I didn't know what to expect. I had seen and met Charlie at the Opry and wasn't moved. Well, this weekend I realized that after a couple songs Charlie gets into his groove and really puts on a show. With the Opry I don't think he gets into that groove. But I think the Opry does that to people.

Charlie is a very funny man and a neat guy to hang out with backstage. He brought his son Sonny along to play acoustic guitar. Forum member Joe Savage was on steel.

I have seen the video and agree their voices blend perfect. Of course Allison has the voice of an angel! She could make anybody sound good and is so down to earth.

Roger, I sure didn't mean James needed help as he is very talented but Allison is like Vince Gill. They can blend their voices with so many different people and styles. James and Allison's video sells itself with just their voices. It's a grest duet!!!
