Phil Spector formerly charged with murder.

Post by Mike Perlowin RIP »

From today's wire services:

ALHAMBRA, Calif. (AP) - Record producer Phil Spector was charged Thursday with murder in the shooting death of a woman at his home last February.

Spector, the 1960s recording-studio wizard who created the "Wall of Sound" and worked with such stars as the Beatles, Elvis Presley and Ike and Tina Turner, was expected to be arraigned Thursday afternoon.

He has been free on $1 million bail since shortly after the Feb. 3 shooting of 40-year-old Lana Clarkson, a B-movie actress and model.

Spector, 62, has denied he killed Clarkson, suggesting in an Esquire magazine interview that she may have shot herself.

Spector was arrested for investigation of murder after Clarkson was found dead in the foyer of his Alhambra mansion. After more than six months of investigation, authorities concluded Spector shot her.
He produced such pop music classics as "Da Doo Ron Ron," "Then He Kissed Me" and "To Know Him Is to Love Him."

And in unrelated news, evidence from nothern California suggests that Mike Perlowin may, in fact, be two different people.

And I still don't know who this Toby Bryant is; only that he's the most important person in America.

I KNEW that Topo Gigio would someday be exhonerated of those RIDICULOUS, FRAUDULENT charges. Some people just can't stand getting one-upped by a mouse...

Bobby is of course kidding, but in all seriousness, there really is another Michael Perlowin. A cousin. We were both named after our grandfather. I'm called Mike and he is called Mickey. He is not a musician. (I inherited my musical talent from my mother.)

Meanwhile I want to remind you all that....

Yes, yes, Sigmund always looked better in lace 'n' linen.

Even over here I know who Koby Bryant is, and don't give a rats ...
I like basketball, but I prefer Larry Bird, a true gentleman and regular guy.

I had a lady roommate in a house and she was out on a date and was seated next to Larry.
As he finished his 3rd porterhouse, she leaned over and said
' My you have a great appetite, and I notice you're rather tall...

You know you might be very good at basketball, they seem to like tall fellows for that. If your tried it you might like it a lot."

Her date had been trying not to stare and to pretend Larry was just another guy sitting across from him, out of good taste, and was totally floored.

Larry looked at her, while wearing 3 MVP rings, and said ;
"Thank you miss, I do play some and enjoy it very much. Thank you for your kind suggestion.

And preceded to make small talk with her and her date for the next 20 minutes.

Now I compare that to some of these other new players and they don't hold a candle.

2 days later I was watching a game and she came down and watched the Celtics for a bit, and suddenly blurted, Oh there's that nice man Larry I talked with over dinner this week.
Oh and he seems to like playing basketball just like he said.

Her boyfriend had told me about it and I could only smile.

Simple. If you agree with what you read, it's me. If you don't, it's the other, evil Mike.

The other Mike is the one who occasioanlly attempts to play the b***o.

Getting back to Spector, it is somewhat fashionable to diss him these days, but I still love some the things he did with the Rightous Brothers and "River Deep Mountain high" by Ike and Tina Turner, and I sincerely hope he is truely innocent and found not guilty.

I hate the thought of somebody so talented, who created such great music, spending the rest of his life in prison.

Well Phil, you win a few, you lose a few..

Ask Johnny Paycheck or Snoop Dog.

Being able like MJ to be "free on multimillion dollar bond" has got to be a plus for one's self esteem anyhow..

Lots of folks can't afford to "bail out" on traffic tickets.

Me?

I tend not to feel sorry for people that own lear jets.

MP. Did Dave B ever get in touch with you about his trip?

Koby Bryant is allegedly a good basketball player, but ain't much good at being a rake. Seems to overplay his hand. I haven't a clue for which team.

I also hope Phil Specter is not guilty. As in didn't do it and is found not guilty.
If he did it, he doesnt get much sympathy...

And it would be sad to see someone so talented go down the drain totally. He did some amazing productions.

Remembering most of them were to mono or stereo, and done live, or in only two groupings sub mixed to another rolling tape..

He might actually have 30-80 people with correct charts all ready to do their thing and have it all pre mixed when tape was rolling.
A few were limited over dubbing sessions, but mostly it was one huge act all ready to go...

Pretty amazing at the time to have the budget and clout to pull it off.

I hate to be the one that has to break it to you, but here in the "New World" those two things are now "Les Pommes et les Oranges".

Just ask my attorney that I use for traffic violations...

Bobby, I was pretty sure he was Jimmy Bryant's nephew, and played a Broadcaster thtough an old TV-front Fender, but Ive heard a lot lately about his "court presence". Maybe he's a lawyer?
