The best thing on that show was that 'Cadillac green' Gretsch the guy was playing - does anyone know if it was a genuine old one, or one of the 'repro' ones?
I gave up on the show after a minute or two of the O.B.s, but I suppose I'll tune in again next week, even if my patience with the show's general mediocrity is wearing thin...

I couldn't guess who was playing steel with Mandy but they had a shot of him during her first number where he was sliding one of his finger picks over the strings and got a very appropriate sound for the number. Sort of like an old rinky tink piano effect. I used to tap my finer picks on the strings with echo, for a rythmn effect but I never arrived at what he was doing.

Maybe it was the arrangements, But whatever it was.Steve Azar sounded really bad! And looked just as bad. These folks might be nice people. work hard at their craft etc. But why do they think that looking as sloppy as possible will endear them to the public!! I just cant figure it out. I enjoyed the rest of the show for the most part. OK thats my rant for today.
