Without any other surprises ,Gene Watson should make this a watchable enjoyable show.Maybe just Maybe they will make him a member this week as he is more than worthy and would add greatly to a depleting lineup.Shannon Lawson new? yes,I reserve judgement until the show. Haven't heard anything by her or is it a guy? tune in saturday nite for the answer.

Well, it was better than last week! Shannon Lawson wasn't that bad. Matter of fact, I kind of enjoyed his singing but not steel so I'll stop there. Jeannie Seely's steel player kicked ass and took names tonight. Besides playing good fills, he had great tone and string separation. Gene Watson was the icing on the cake. Farewell Party was played in true Lloyd Green style. I don't know who his steel player was but he stayed close to Lloyd's original cut on the song. I couldn't see what kind of guitar he was playing but is sounded muddy to me but hey, he got to play alot so what the heck. B.J. Thomas? Country? Grand Ole Opry? What else can I say? Tommy has yet to cut loose on his new Carter but his fills behind Milsap were crystal clear and I can't wait until he does get to tear up the strings on some song, hopefully soon. Retcop, Milsap want's to see you!!!

TW on Millsap's tunes & Gene's player on Farewell Party....if anyone on here doesnt know,thats what Country Steel Guitar is all about.No pyrotechnics,no tuning/timing problems, & to quote Dumplin',no "pink tennis shoe playin" from those two fellows....

Also,nice 2x fiddles on "One Step Away". The rest was at best,
forgettable.

I would concour, TW's playing with RM was above top shelf as well as GW's player. The show repeats Sunday Am around 11 I believe.

Yep, I saw the green fingernails. They were color-matched to the color of his strat, quite trendy!

I couldn't see what steel Corky Owens was playing last night either! However, it's in the archives from July 8th 2001.
I'm sure if Corky takes it to dad he'll clean the mud off!

Sorry Theresa, maybe it was the soundman and not the guitar. That is more logical than a problem with one of your dad's guitars since muddy tone is NOT a characterist of a Franklin guitar.

I'm so so on Shannon's mix of pop sounds and banjo fills.
Wish Jeannie S could have done another number.
Great camera shots of both Tommy W and Corky O.
Thanks to Ronny M for mentioning Micky Newbury.
I missed the green fingernails but B J Thomas sounded good.

Milsap -- GREAT STUFF. "The Future Is Not What It Used To Be" is my favorite Milsap song and one of my favorite songs of all time.

Gene Watson -- What can I say. He is truly "the singer's singer".

I feel blessed that I was able to live through the times when these two greats were at their peak.

Oh yeah, the steel playing tonight was fantastic.
