Open Hearts

Post by Bobby Lee »

Mrs. Lee took some pictures of me playing with John Reese and Open Hearts at the gazebo in Sebastopol. Here's the best band shot. The bass player is missing, though. He wanders through the crowd listening to the balance sometimes.

I've enlarged the steel player for the pic on my home page (b0b.com). If you're ever in North California, try to come see us perform. You'll probably enjoy it.

Nice. I thought for a moment you'd bought (or swiped) one of Herby's hats. I see from the enlargement, that's not the case.

My friend Vic Chaney made that little music stand for me. He's a master craftsman, but doesn't do it professionally. I saw his plexiglass music holder and admired it, and he was nice enough to make one that fit on my guitar.

I have all of John's tunes charted on index cards. I arrange the cards in the order of the set list, so I just move the top of the stack to the bottom at the end of each song. A rubber band keeps them from flying away when we're outdoors (which is most of the time).
