An Orchard Park, New York, jury took just over two hours on Wednesday to acquit Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney of all charges in a case that began when McGraw scuffled with sheriff's deputies who were trying to pull Chesney off a horse.

"I have complete faith in the justice system and am pleased with the verdict that was rendered," McGraw said.

McGraw was charged with misdemeanor assault, resisting arrest, obstruction of governmental administration, menacing and harassment. If he had been convicted, McGraw could have faced up to a year in prison. Chesney, charged with disorderly conduct, faced up to 15 days in jail.

The trial had been in adjournment over the weekend because the original judge suffered a heart attack on Thursday.

With a new justice overseeing the case, McGraw and Chesney both took the stand on Tuesday and charged that deputies had assaulted them in the incident, which took place backstage at Ralph Wilson Stadium during the George Strait Country Music Festival on June 3
