Allison Moorer II

Post by Alan Shank »

I just got Allison Moorer's 2nd CD, "The Hardest Part." For me, it was a major disappointment. The Nashville String Machine and a string quartet dominate the sound. Not a single song makes it to my "Hard Country" collection tape.

Too bad.

OTOH, "My Perfect World" by Ed Burleson, which I think somebody on the Forum recommended, was a real winner! Very prominent steel from Lloyd Maines and Tommy Detamore, fiddle by Alvin Crow, among others, and NO STRINGS! Thanks to whoever pointed me in their direction.

Cheers,

I try to keep out of the Country/Not Country debates, but I've got to say that whatever genre it belongs to, "Send Down an Angel" is a great song and a terrific record, - and there is steel on it, as well as the strings and the backwards synth flutes.

Cheers!

I really hate to hear that. I have her first cd and I really liked it.
