Ray Price stage show
Some friends of mine and I are considering going to see Ray Price at the Little Nashville Opry on September 30. I have always loved his music and wanted some opinions on his show. Thanks Jason

I saw him about a year ago at a country music club in the Pennsylvania Poconos. It was a great show! His voice was good with excellent steel and good dynamics with the voice out front and the band in and out volume wise when needed. During the sound check, a few hours before the 1st show, I heard him doing "Take Me as I Am" with just his voice and a guitar. The depth of his voice just put chills up my spine. So full and in tune with even more character than on records. Kind of like seeing a picture of the Grand Canyon, admiring it, and then getting to see it in person for the first time. Price had a string section brought in from Philadelphia to replace the fiddle sound. They were excellent and played to canned sheet music but I would have preffered to hear them on "For The Good Times" and then a fiddle or twin fiddles on "Heartaches By The Number" etc. The steel was set up to Ray's far right and the strings on his far left, with the piano almost straight behind him. My Dad saw him a few months later at the Wheeling, WV Capitol Music Hall and said it was the same exact show that we saw in the club.
