??? Jim Vest and Nashville Cats

Post by Gord Cole »

Loved them at the International Convention in '98! Would anyone know if there are any CD's by them? Thanks.

Get ahold of Jim Vest thru Soundsmith Studio, in care of Buck Jarrell, Hendersonville, Tennessee. Either Jim or Buck can answer your question and if something is available on CD, Buck will know. I'm fairly certain that the Fatcats used to have one or more cassette tapes they would sell at live shows (Joe Stampley used them as his backup band on more than one occasion). Good band, nice guys. I don't know if they're together anymore. "Big Louie" (real name Jeff Walakangus) was back up in this part of the country last I heard. Good luck in your search. Tim R.

Thanks Tim. Seems I've got the name wrong...should be "Fatcats" not "Nashville Cats" !?! Image

Gord, I believe it's Nashville Fatcats...that's pretty close anyway!

I sure enjoy Jim's unique style every time
(and I play it often) I hear him on Vern Gosdin's "This Ain't My First Rodeo".
I wish Vern would make a "comeback"; I think they broke the mold when he was born.
