Any Recommendations for Radio Stations?
I use Warpradio.com to get stations on the net to play on my computer. One I really like here in N.J. is 89.1 WFDU from Fairleigh Dickenson University in Teaneck, N.J. They have an all-American playlist, no commercials, lot's of bluegrass, real country, folk, blues, a real nice station.
Can anyone recommend any others that they really like, preferably non-commercial, or at least not mega-commercial?
Here's the link to warpradio

You ought to check out FM 98.3 WCCQ out of Joliet (WWW.WCCQ.COM). Alison Gerard has the silkiest voice in radio & hosts the "All-Request Cafe" from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
They've got an extensive library, are not pre-programmed, & will play most anything (just heard "Murder on Music Row," right after "The Devil's Right Hand.")
DJ Roy Gregory does a Sat. a.m. show featuring local bands(!) which is extremely unusual in these parts. Check it out!

WKDF in Nashville www.carlp.com
Carl P. Mayfield has a show from 6-10AM CST.
He played Murder On Music Row 3 times this morning. Carl does pretty much as he wants to on this show. On the morning of the CMA awards, he played Choices at least 20 times.
There are some interesting characters on with him: Homeless Jimmy, Bubba Skynard, Bro. Jonah, Peanuts.
Waylon will be on live with him 3/1/00 from 9-10AM. When it's Waylon Wednesday no telling what will happen.

I've given them all a few minutes (except WCCQ in Joliet, got their website but can't seem to get them on streaming audio). After that extensive survey, I like them all. Twangbox caught my attention the most on the first round of listening, I'll have to give you a review after a few weeks.
Dave, New Jersey is just a hotbed of country music (and bluegrass, which I really love).
Hope to see you in Bethlehem again this year.
[This message was edited by Pat Burns on 01 March 2000 at 04:44 PM.]
