Facebook Page Claiming to Be Paul Franklin

Post by Dan Beller-McKenna »

There's a page up on Facebook claiming to be Paul Franklin, including some AI images and existing internet images, and (more importantly) claiming to be building and selling new Franklin steels. I assume this is a scam. Should someone alert Paul Franklin?

Thank you for bringing this up- I've noticed this as well.

It's crazy to me how many people actually think its Paul Franklin.

This account took a turn for the wackier today. AT least that settles any doubt about its authenticity (or lack thereof).

Dave: Maybe this really belongs under Pedal Steel Players?

This guitar is way too cool, only PF’ deserves that axe! :D

- Changes on the left
- Finally brought both necks into one.
Double pedals.
- Not even a keyless tuner! Probably because of the lateral pedal racks it comes outta factory TUNED and darn well STAYS in tune… FOR EVER!
- the string gauges have already been pointed out… but Pro’s need RUGGED rigs!

Well, so now we know AI developed a sense of humor after all! Ain’t it funny how time slipps away?

I just wonder…. Yeah, PF is great…. but AMONG STEEL PLAYERS… and the few Nashville cats left, but really, interesting enough for AI trying to become him, who’s it going to be next, Gerald Fifer (a steel guitarist aparently nobody seems to know )?

This stuff is too funny, worrysome, but nevertheless too funny…., still yeah, worrysome thou… JD.

What the hell is that thing on his left pinky? Where is the bar? No picks? And those pedals are hysterical

AI has a ways to go yet.

I messaged Paul's son Darrell about this page several days ago. Darrell and Paul are both aware of this fake page. From my conversation, Paul is having a difficult time trying to get the page removed. Hopefully, the fraud will be removed soon, but in the meantime, the more people that report this page would surely help matters. There was a musical instrument sales post recently about a "fresh" run of Franklin steels for sale. C'mon..

So that thing is what....an S-20?

(Anybody buying one would need a gorilla for a roadie!)
Many play better than I do. Nobody has more fun.
