Guys, glad you are enjoying this little gem. Amazing what is packed in a small box. For the price it's a winner.
Marty, you can adjust from the front panel but on the fly may be stretching it. The App works well and is the best option. Since you can save and arrange presets that would be my plan. I will see if the manual is available and post a link.

Well there ya go 8)
I see that the unit has a 1/4” phones output on it, which is perfect for an aux in.

Re: Sonicake Pocket Master Software

Post by Bob Sykes »

While I am still pleased with PM unit, I am unable to install the Sonicake Manager software for Windows. This supposedly allows the PM to be used as an audio interface using ASIO drivers. The Sonicake installer requires (and includes) a separate installer for MS C++ redistributable which is a common support program. Unfortunately the Sonicake included 2015 C++ installer bombs out because I already have a later (2022) version already on my computer. It suggests that I remove the later conflicting version which I don't want to do in case it breaks something else.

I contacted Sonicake tech support and they asked me to send them a video of the problem, which I did, but that does not inspire confidence.

Has anyone else here been able to install/use Sonicake Manager software for windows?

It works seamlessly on my iPhone and iPad. Try it on your phone or tablet. They have modified the program to work well with the smaller screen space.

I have installed the Manager software on a Windows 10 PC.

Haven't tried to install the ASIO driver, which is a separate download.

FYI, the manager software doesn't allow preset editing, only organising them, i.e. removing, re-naming etc. It also does firmware updating.

For editing, I've found the Android software easy to use.

The “Sonic Link” app controls all of the pedal’s parameters. It is separate from the “Sonicake Manager” that only updates the firmware.

Re: Sonicake Pocket Master Software - problem solved

Post by Bob Sykes »

Thanks guys. I have been using the soniclink android app on my mobile devices with no problem (other than the GPS quirk mentioned earlier in this thread). I just can't get the Windows Manager program to install due to its insistence on the earlier MS C++ redistributable.

John, it's good to know that it can work on Win 10. I am curious what latest version of the MS C++ you are running. I did install the separate ASIO driver but haven't tried it other than its control panel.

I think I understand the problem as it is reported in the error message. I don't understand why the manager software won't run with a current (but not new) version of the MS C++ distributable. I expect my experience is not unique here, but a search of some guitar forums didn't turn up much.

Sonicake support has been responsive to my messages. They sent me some links to possible fixes. Unfortunately the fixes (files) reside on their google drive space which I have now requested access to.

I can live without the Manager program unless there is a compelling reason for me to update the PM firmware. I'll continue this saga on the Computers section of SGF as this is more of a computer/software issue. I'll post the solution here if/when I have one.

-Edit to say installing the latest C++ software from Microsoft fixed the problem. Thanks John!
