Quilter 202 Tone Block Speaker Outputs

Of course, the Quilter Tone Block 202 has two speaker outputs, a 4 ohm & 8 ohm. I have two speaker cabs, one with an 8 ohm TT-12 and another with a 4 ohm TT-15. I use either/or but never both at the same time. Here’s my question…
can I use both of them in their appropriate speaker outputs together at the same time?

The manual says -

SPEAKER OUTPUTS: 8 and 4 ohm
jacks support optimum matching of
single or dual 8-ohm speakers, or
single 4 ohm cabs.

So, I would say no. You can always email the company, I've emailed them in the past and they responded pretty quick.

Running two 8 ohm speakers in parallel yields 4 ohms, two 4 ohms = 2 ohms, lower than recommended. A 4+ an 8 = in the ballpark of 6 ohms, an unusual value. I don’t think that would damage the amp since Quilters are quite flexible. All the same I think asking Quilter would be the best thing to do before hooking them up.

I have both my 12" and 15", 8 and 4 ohm speakers plugged into my 202 ALL the time ... they sound delicious, and I've been doing that for 4-5 years. Never an issue.

Thanks everyone for the cautionary replies, they’re very much appreciated. I’m a fairly newcomer to Quilter products having used mostly Peavey & Fender for the past 50 yrs. and now have a TT 202 Tone Block w/12” speaker along an extra 15” speaker & cab. At my age, I figure the Quilter will most likely outlive me so Dale, I’m going to try both the 4 ohm & 8 ohm together. Once again, thank you.

The ToneBlock 202 manual clearly states that both can be used at the same time and that some gain matching compensation is applied.

I guess no one clicked the link I posted above. It's from Quilter's FAQ. Running two speakers is no problem. Running two 8 ohm cabs is no problem. The only caveat mentioned, they advise not running a single 8 ohm cab off the 4 ohm jack. Re: the 202, the FAQ states:

Absolutely! Our amps have two speaker outputs so you can build your own modular system.

Plug one into the "bottom" speaker jack and one into the top.

Note: On our amps, the "4 Ohm" jack has a special contact that increases the amplifier's output. This allows you to get additional headroom. It is advised to only plug in a single 4 ohm cabinet/speaker in this jack. Plugging a single 8 ohm cabinet/speaker into the 4 ohm jack will cause the output power to double and put strain on the amp. An 8 ohm cabinet/speaker should only be plugged into the 4 ohm jack if there is an additional 8 ohm cabinet/speaker in the 8 ohm jack.

Yes, you can do it. You'll get more power going to the 4 ohm speaker so if you're running at a high output level, be mindful of the speaker ratings.
