Doug Meyer, long time pedal steel player here in San Diego. had a massive heart attack. He could use much prayer.

Tom, I'm moving your prayer request topic for Doug Meyer from GONE HOME to EXTENDED FAMILY.
I have added Doug to my prayer list.

I am sad to say that Doug passed on tonight. Much of the music community here in San Diego is morning the great loss. Doug was a warm and loving person. And a source of much encouragement to all steel players here.

I've had the pleasure of knowing Doug for probably 40 years and you couldn't find a nicer guy or a musician much more capable than Doug. We've worked together when he played Steel or Guitar and he filled the bill quite well with either instrument. Lots of fun when you got to know him.
He is being missed and will be for a long, long time.
My very best to his friends and family back in SD.

I met Doug Meyer at Exum studios in Escondido in about 2005. He came to play on the album my buddies & I were recording at the time. He was so incredible in the studio & made me cry with his steel riffs.
My band loved Doug. He would come play live with us at gigs sometimes.
You won't find a nicer, kinder person than Doug & his musicianship was absolutely top notch.

Miss you & love you Doug!
Thanks, Dave
