C6 TAB Lapsteel - Highwayman

Post by Bert Farroach »

Hi lapsteelers,
Jimmy Webb for me is McArthur Park from long ago. And Up up and away.
Not really country songs. And the same feeling I have with this song Highwayman.
(though the Highwaymen as country icons made it feel like that)
It's a ballad in words, but too complex in melody and structure.
Anyway, as the lyrics say at the end, I was playing it around and around and around . .

So I made a backing and a clip that is here on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zag1bGG17Pg

If you want to join in, I can send you the tablature and the (fine) backing track.
A donation of 4 dollar/euro on Paypal account: farroach.tabs@gmail.com will do.
Hope you like it, and below are the first bars. . .

Just sent via paypal, thanks!
Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous; praise is meet for the upright. Give praise to the Lord with the harp, chant unto Him with the ten-stringed psaltery. Sing unto Him a new song, chant well unto Him with jubilation. For the word of the Lord is true, and all His works are in faithfulness. The Lord loveth mercy and judgement; the earth is full of the mercy of the Lord.
- Psalm 33:1-5

I'm about to go to PayPal and make this song my new project. Great work as always, Bert!
I started playing lap steel in September 2017. It's already been a long strange ride! I do keep learning! My primary guitar interests these days are Weissenborn with Open D and my lap steels with C6.
