Jo Dee Messina current road steel player?
Would anyone happen to know who is currently playing pedal steel for Jody Messina while on her road tour this year? A better question might be does Jo Dee Messina use a steel player on the road? Thnx

Hi Randy, When I opened a show for her last summer in Canada she did not have a steel player. Killer band though! But very heavy(rocky).

Back in the 90s, Jo Dee actually featured steel in the band. I know of two steel guitarists who played in her band over the years. At one time, a steel guitarist named Steve Byam was in her band-he probably joined her band after he'd played a few shows with Trace Adkins. In 1999, I first saw her opening a show for George Strait, then she was on the 1999 ACM Awards, and an Emmons was being played in her band, and there was a Sierra steel onstage, then in August of '99, I saw her open for Vince Gill, and the Sierra was at the show too-John Hughey was still in Vince's band at the time. In 2005, I saw another video by Jo Dee, and David Spires was in the band, playing a Carter. Sonny Garrish played steel on a few of her records she released while signed to Curb Records. A few years ago, I heard that Allyn Love, who played steel with Steve Wariner had played steel in Jo Dee's band
