Guitar stores that have many Volume pedal options
If I wanted to try out a bunch of volume pedals, where would I go? I imagine shops in Nashville, Austin, etc would have a wide variety. Does anyone know from experience?

I've never seen one of the steel preferred volume pedals in a music store. They are pretty much specialized products. Unless you want an older used pot pedal the companies manufacturing today are Goodrich, Hilton, and Telonics.

Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous; praise is meet for the upright. Give praise to the Lord with the harp, chant unto Him with the ten-stringed psaltery. Sing unto Him a new song, chant well unto Him with jubilation. For the word of the Lord is true, and all His works are in faithfulness. The Lord loveth mercy and judgement; the earth is full of the mercy of the Lord.

Chances of finding stores that cater to steel guitar are few and far between. You won't find stuff for steel guitar in Guitar Center or other big box stores, or even local Mom & Pop music stores.

Hey Matt,
Yeah...I'll agree with above. You'll need a steel specific pedal for the correct taper and to make sure the I/O jack position doesn't interfere with your feet.
I'll add Moyo (a passive pedal) to those already mentioned.
Cheers,

Re: Guitar stores that have many Volume pedal options
Most 6 string guitar volume pedals only have a 250 pot in them. For steel you need a 470/500 pot.
Check where jacks for cables plug in. For steel it is best to have all jacks on right side.
Most volume pedals for steel, Have 3 jacks OUT TUNER IN. So tuner can be plugged all the time.
Unless it is a music store that serves the pedal steel community.
About all you will find, Is metal finger picks and thumb picks in the Banjo section.
