Making some Endplates

Post by Kurt Graber »

Got me a new mill at the first of the year and am making an attempt at some endplates. I drew the design out in freecad.
Im a newbie machinist and so far everything is working out. I figured if I could TAP the leg holes 1/2-13 at a 10 degree angle would be the hardest part to get right. Anyway, my arm is about to fall off from turning the milling cranks. Definately a labor of love as a lot of work and effort is going into these. I Installed DRO's on my mill and im quickly finding out that this is a must for accuracy. My mill is the grizzly G704. Im making 2 sets and just thought I would post progress so far.

Not sure why I waited so long to do this. For the kind of work it's a must have. Looking good!
