Video - C6 Lap Steel Solo - Summertime 2014
This is a C6 lap steel solo from my 2014 video of "Summertime". I just cut a Short of the solo for YouTube.
The backing track is a jazz-flavored track that I got from YouTube. I usually play this tune much slower and with different chords, but I thought it would be fun to play over this quirky track.

Good playing as always.
I try to avoid video clips of solos. Especially if I don't know the song, because without the melody line there is no context.
I suppose a chopped down video like this can serve a purpose. To demonstrate a technique.
And I'm often willing to send a video like that to my daughter who is learning how to play the guitar.
I came across a chopped off video of Joe Pass. And even as good as he is, it sounded like gibberish.
Far be it from me to give you advice about YouTube. I'm sure you'll get millions of views on that video.
Mine won't be one of them.

Thanks Rich, This is a YT Short, 60 seconds long. Lately I’ve been cutting 60 second clips from my long form vids and posting shorts. This particular video I recorded 11 years ago.
I understand what you’re saying. A solo is better understood within the context of the entire song. I can tell by the comments on my channel that the majority of my subscribers (probably 95% or more) are not musicans. They’re people who like oldies and enjoy watching someone play the steel guitar.
