Recommendations for Dobro Strap, Strap Locks, etc?
Looking for recommendations for a square neck dobro strap for playing while standing?
Also, looking for recommendations for strap locks (if you think they're needed) AND how to connect at head stock?
Thank you, Doug

See the lower half of this thread : viewtopic.php?t=407769
people recommend:
"Lakota Leathers strap"
"Schaller is the preferred strap lock for many Dobro players; the Dunlop Straplok is also effective. Easy to install, about $30 for a pair"
I got this one: "Minotaur AADP2 Acoustic/Reso Strap" for about $40. It is easily available in Europe. Anything else I would have to import from the US and with the Postal charges and new tariffs ...
I hope to get the Schallers today!

I use Dunlop strap locks, but the important thing is to use something — even a rubber washer — to keep the tail end of the strap
In any case, your guitar strap of choice plus a Planet Waves headstock loop does the job. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detai ... se-system
There are plenty of Dobro straps with a built in loop, too — those generally have to stay attached to the headstock even when you’re putting the guitar in its case.

The best strap out there is a Poff. Yes, it is expensive, but if you plan on standing while playing a bunch, it's the only way to go. I've tried a bunch and most let the guitar move too much. You can wear the Poff for hours without much shoulder strain.

FWIW..
I've been using the Webb strap for decades now. You have choices. Make sure you choose a _dobro_specific_ strap as they are typically designed with detachable headstock loop ends.
As for commercially available locks.. Since Beard outfits all of their guitars with the Schaller system, that's what I use.
