Milkman Pedal Steel Mini Preamp Tube Positions

Post by Steve Mueller »

Does anyone know the functions of the 4 preamp tubes by position? Looking at the amp from the rear, going from right to left the recommended tubes are: V1 - 12AX7(I know this one, it's the gain stage one), V2 - 12AT7, V3 - 12AX7, and V4 - 12AT7. I know there's a Reverb driver, phase inverter and gain stage 2(?). I'd like to know which is which when replacing tubes as I don't use the reverb on the amp, so tthat tube doesn't need replacing. Thanks!

I would guess that its the same as a fender.
V1 (12ax7)is the first two gain stages, one before and one after the tone stack.
V2 (12at7) is the reverb Driver.
V3 (12ax7) is the reverb recovery as well as a third gain stage and then
V4 (12at7) is the Phase inverter.

I hope that helps.
