ToneX
As most of us who have been at it a long time have gone thru the single amp, stereo rack , boutique ,tube no tube amp phase to chase “that tone”. I think this is the best sound I have ever heard from my steel. I purchased a used ToneX and several presets from Joe and Yes, it’s a little complicated for us old folks but it’s worth it. I like the Little Walter preset the best but nice to have access to the other amps. I daily learn something new about this pedal and theirs a lot of help on YouTube. Thanks Joe for your effort in making this pedal a very wonderful tool for our steel community!

Jeffery, I had the pleasure of doing an extensive interview with Joe recently. He includes his preferred methods of contact at the very bottom of the interview you can read here:Jeffery Mercer wrote:CAN SOMEONE PLEASE DIRECT ME IN HOW TO CONTACT MR. JOE ROGERS.?

Here's a video using the ToneX this past weekend with a band I was subbing with. It's a Standel preset that Joe just did. The video quality is not the best, but the audio is there.

Boo,
I use the TONEX One as a preamp into a Fender FR12. I clip the TONEX to the leg of my guitar so I can fiddle with micro-knobs. I also use Joe Rogers’ presets. With the FRFR speaker sometimes the cab settings are good and sometimes they are not. I can easily turn them off. The speaker sounds amazing. Different from, for example, a QSC powered speaker in that it’s voiced for an instrument.

Yes Boo. Correct. All my gigs are not to FOH.Boo Bernstein wrote:Hey, Ron --
Yes, thankfully, we're both still around. As my Dad used to say, "Getting old is not pleasant but it's better than the alternative!" LOL!
So when you use the pre-amp setting, you're NOT using it with an IR because you have a regular amp and speaker ... is that correct?
I do have IRs in case though. Some 12 and 15” Franklin and Toy speakers in case.

Global Input Trim
For the those of you using the Tonex pedal..Where are you setting your global input trim for your guitar/pickup

Charlie, I am glad you asked this. Because my input is either from an active volume pedal (Hilton) or a pot pedal (Goodrich/StageOne), I always try to set it to 5 because I do not want distortion. One of my Hilton pedals distorts me no matter how I set the off-level or tone. I will try a Lehle pedal, as it has a variable gain.

I just tried the four profiles I received from Joe.
- Little Walter
- Revelation
- Sho Bud
- Standel
They are wonderful. Perfect in front of my Split Cab, I will try them in my FRFR cabs, but I can say they are incredible.
Joe gave me some versions of each amps and it's really great.
Many thanks Joe !

Re: Joe Rogers TONEX Presets
Jean-Marie,
Thanks so much for the compliments on the amp models.
I am announcing that I have plans of attending the Dallas Steel Guitar Show whereby I can profile anyone's amp into the Neural DSP Quad/Nano Cortex pedals as well as the Tonex pedals. Bring your amp, set it the way you like it, and it will be set in stone for your gigs in a pedal that will fit in the palm of your hand. I charge $35 to profile your amp if it is an amp that I already have in my library. If it is an obscure amp that I don't have in my library (and you give me your permission to add it), I will model your amp for free, as well as give you 2 more free amp models. Anyone who has been on the fence about going this route, or is curious about the technology can see and hear it first hand....
Thanks...!!!
