Who still uses the Peavey Profex?
Are you using a Peavey Profex for effects or something else? I still have 2 working units that I occasionally use and the Lexicon Mpx1. My main effects use is Reverb and Delay.

Larry, I’ve returned to using my Profex II with the original Jeff Newman settings. I installed Kens’s battery-less mod long ago however, I recently installed the 2134 op-amp chips which provided more clarity and eliminated any white noise. My hook up is the old simple, straightforward method suggested by Peavey…guitar, volume pedal, Profex II input, out on rear of Profex II to “power amp in” inputs into two Nashville 112’s rather than my old Nashville 400’s and now, I’m using a Hilton volume pedal instead of my Goodrich L-120/Model 7A combination. Basically, it’s what I played and recorded with 30+ years ago.

Jerry, thanks for the reply. I expected more responses on the Profex II knowing how widely they were used and still sell on the forum. I have one in my Justice rack case that I use now and then. Works great for me. I appreciate the programming features more than the Lexicon mpx1 or the TC Electronics rack processor.

I still have mine set up and use it once in a while.
ProFex II, Peavey MiniMax Bass head (front input) into 2 of the new Celestion 12" speakers (prototypes) being used in the new Nashville-Session 112.
I will be putting this rig up for sale soon as I literally have run out of space.

Regarding my previous post, I’ve modified a few of the original Newman settings to suit my tastes as well as added a couple of presets from other steel guitarists. Also, I’ve benefited from installing the Profex & Furman power conditioner in a lighter weight, Gator case. However, most importantly, installing the 2134 op-amp chips have made a huge difference in clarity and reducing, actually eliminating any white noise.
