P/p switching string gauges

Post by Jason Altshuler »

I have only ever used GHS strings on my E9 Emmons p/p (https://www.ghsstrings.com/products/114 ... edal-steel) and am interested in trying out this D'Addario set, as I can get a good deal for the strings in bulk (https://www.daddario.com/products/guita ... ium-12-38/).

However I want to make sure the changes in gauge won't cause any problems ie make me have to re-configure anything, other than just tuning the changer. Are these sets too different to use interchangeably or are they close enough?

i'm not sure, but i'd be willing to bet you'll just have to retune the changer.

if it were me, i'd do it for sure. those guages on the nyxl set are great for the push pull, and you'll be very happy with the change.

I just got a push-pull; has SIT on it right now. I use NYXL on my Williams and I'll be switching the PP pver to them (with the .012 third) next string change. I'm not expecting much trouble, since going from 11 to 11.5 made no difference at all.
