Panda Replacement Capacitor

Can anyone give me proper specs to replace this capacitor in my 50s Rickenbaker B6 Panda

They used 0.03, 0.047 & 0.05 mfd (microfarad) paper in oil capacitors. A modern .047 mfd is what I use … voltage rating doesn’t matter.

How would sound or the tone control be affected with the different capacitors?

Higher value cap -> more highs rolled off with the tone knob rolled back. The difference with the knob all the way up isn't quite zero, but it's very small.

Can anyone tell me which side of the cap goes where ? The original is so worn I can’t tell
